I’ve been thinking about The SoulWork Guide To Life…

Aug 1, 2018

Part 1

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24 & 25

My grandson, Ethan, drew a picture for me and left it in our condo in Santa Cruz. When I arrived a couple of weeks later, I found it hanging on my refrigerator. In the picture he drew my SoulWork workbook but renamed it, Soul Searching by Nana. I was moved that he knew about my work and in some ways, I like his title for my book better than my own!

Even though I became a believer as a young girl, I was neither grounded nor prepared for the challenges my life would bring. After much floundering around and soul searching over the years, I slowly gathered resources that proved to be life-changing—resources that helped me survive a life lived in front of thousands of people in a very public ministry. These practical, time-tested resources became the core of the curriculum I call SoulWork.

I never imagined that God would ask me to open up my life to the degree that I have in SoulWork. Early on, I did notice that as I motivated women they would be gracious and nod in agreement, but just inspiring them with a good idea to try was not enough. I soon realized to be effective I needed to reveal more of myself in a clear step-by-step process.

I call this process life-to-life exchange because I choose to speak freely as I mentor women by sharing the tools that changed me—motivated me—and centered me personally. In the exchange that follows women find a safe harbor to freely share their sorrow and joys—with the outcome that many times we find ourselves dissolved into tender tears or rollicking laughter. We become sisters with an eternal bond because our hearts are melded together forever.

SoulWork helps women get unstuck—gets them moving into rebuilding themselves by embracing their position as daughters of God. Because there is nothing like living the free and abundant life that Jesus offers, each chapter strengthens the resolve necessary to break free from the past, fully engage in the present and joyfully embrace the future with a smile!
