So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 (ESV)
YOU: What is it, my daughter? Why are you troubled?
ME: Relationships are changing. Dear friends are passing away—and it is making me sad.
YOU: It is true. Change is inevitable. You will continue to experience more challenging endings but be assured you will also experience some exciting new beginnings, as well.
ME: What do you mean, Lord?
YOU: Remember that I love you tenderly. Leave your past with Me—without regret—and step joyfully into the future I have planned for you.
ME: I want to step joyfully into the future, but can I be perfectly honest with You? I need some serious renovation in my soul to move forward… especially joyfully.
YOU: What do you need Me to do for you?
ME: Re-fire me, Lord. Give me a fresh vision of where I am going and why. Renew my heart to trust You—no matter what comes my way.
YOU: I have placed you at Westminster to finish well and to help others finish well with your characteristic sparkle of joy! I promise to daily encourage and strengthen the inner sanctuary of your heart because I am the living God! My daughter, be confident that I will renew your energy day to day and with My help you will complete all the tasks I have for you!
ME: I submit to Your wisdom once again, Lord, and I bow to Your will for my life. It is Your perfect plan that I should reach this age at this time, while living in this place for Your good purposes!
YOU: You bring Me great pleasure!. Always remember that I sent my Son to redeem you, and I have a perfect plan for your life—which is unfolding in the exact way I have designed.
ME: Thank you, Lord. I needed that reminder—and to be honest I also needed a renewed vision that Your power will hold me securely for the rest of my days. Could I ask You for one more thing?
YOU: What is it, my daughter?
ME: Help me give the future all I’ve got!
